WORKSHOP CANCELED DUE TO LOW ENROLLMENTActing & Storytelling with deaf Actress, Alexandria Wailes. Focusing on Acting and self-expression techniques, this workshop session is offered for a forty-five minutes. Cost is $30 per person, limited to 20 participates.
VIRTUAL WORKSHOP DATE: Saturday, November 14th, 1-3pm EST WHO CAN JOIN? BIPOC Youths Only Age 9-12 (Time: 1pm to 2pm) Age 13-17 (Time: 2pm to 3pm) WORKING INFORMATION: The purpose of this workshop is to give participants an opportunity to learn a little more about acting and self expression. This hour- long workshop will be divided into a forty-five minutes long workshop, with a five minute break and then wrap up with ten minutes of discussion at the end. We will learn a couple of theater games and do an acting exercise to tap into the storyteller within each of you. When: Saturday, October 17th Time: 1:00 - 3:00 pm EST via Zoom Workshop Description: Amy Aillon and Francisca Rangel will host a workshop, “I Am What I Am”. This workshop, “I Am What I Am”, is for the participants of the Camp Sol for the Deaf, Inc. Two topics, Identity (who I am) and Intersectionality (how I prioritize myself) will be the focus. The goal of this workshop is for the participants to communicate, inform, remind, share and show others who they are. The participants in youth and teen groups will be given the opportunity to discuss in depth about their experiences. Through this workshop, our participants will have opportunity to do their own self-analysis, to get to know oneself better. The facilitators will also expose them to different kinds of phrases as examples. In addition, topics such as how to approach people tactfully, how we can best present our information, our experiences at the same time educate others. The Deaf Women’s Empowerment Author Reading event will benefit both the Deaf Entertainment Access Foundation and Camp Sol of the Deaf, Inc.
