Camp Sol program celebrates 5th anniversary
Camp Sol of the Deaf Inc’s youth program is celebrating 5 years of providing enrichment activities and promoting deaf leadership skills in the Middlesex County Community. The Organized Camp was named Zoppi Deaf Camp in honor of Rev. Joseph Zoppi. The camp was sponsored by Rev. Joseph Zoppi. Zoppi Deaf Camp was started by Mayra Castro, Rev. Pedro Bismarck Chau, and Ryan Cuevas on May 27, 2016, as a way to give back to the kids in their community. It aims to promote educational and recreational experiences for children in a diverse environment. Three years later, the Zoppi Deaf Camp had been renamed The Camp Sol of the Deaf Inc on September 9, 2019. Mayra Castro is a very active member of our camp and continues her great work. She is a fantastic role model for our youths and has a tremendous interest in their Deaf identity and leadership skills. Read full Story |
