To me, the art of language is a form of expression. Continuing to make art with my hands gives me peace of mind. I have been inspired by my culture and environment. Although I completed my bachelors degree in communication studies / graphic design from Gallaudet University, my passion lies in my jewelry line. Jennifer Tandoc, an Abstract Illustrator, born in Manila, Philippines and grew up in Los Angeles, California since 1978. She graduated from California School for the Deaf in Riverside and went to National Technical Institute for the Deaf in Rochester, New York where she obtained her Associate Degree in Art and Computer Design in 2002. Akilah English is a deaf and hard of hearing specialist for the District of Columbia Public Schools in Washington, D.C. With more than 14 years of experience, she has taught at elementary and middle schools in the District, Maryland, and Massachusetts. Juan Bernal MondragonASL Latino Book Signer
Juan is a native signer and has excessive knowledge in American Sign Language. Juan is the winner of the Deaf Illinois Award 2013 and the current holder of the Best Deaf Activist title. Juan modeled and mentored ASL for several different Deaf Outreach videos for various hospitals. He holds an ASL Mentor certification and has worked as a Deaf Interpreter for the last 20 years. Teddy Dorsette III is a Deaf filmmaker and Businessman from Detroit. He currently works as the communications manager for Detroit Disability Power. He obtained a bachelor’s degree from The University of Michigan in Screen Arts and Cultures. He also graduated from the Motion Picture Institute where he concentrated on directing and editing.
