On Monday, October 4, 2021, Representatives from Magyar Bank were on hand to present donation to Camp Sol of the Deaf, Inc.

The Camp Sol of the Deaf, Inc was grateful that they got a big boost with a check that was large in size and amount: $2,500.00 from Magyar Bank as part of the 2021 Virtual Summer Camp.

This week we want to highlight some diverse presenters we will have at the virtual event this year. The Camp Sol includes an amazing mix of community leaders, talented artists, the Deaf Institute Board of Trustees, and teachers who all help campers thrive and build a sense of purpose in life. We are thrilled to spotlight Akilah English, Juan Bernal, Roberto Sandoval, Zandrea Pitterson, Syd Ahmed, Jennifer Tandoc, Teddy Dorsette III, Ivy Velez, Gabriel Arellano, Maria Hernandez and Evelis Vélez.

Update: We, Camp Sol, want to congratulate your child from k-12 on your graduation. Class of 2021!

We are excited to host our virtual summer camp from July 26th-29th, 2021 (Monday through Thursday from 10-12 and 1-3:30pm) Age 9-11, Ages 12-14 and Ages 15-21. We provide HANDS-ON activities to keep your child busy, learning, and having fun.

What are you doing from July 26th-29th? Grab the opportunity to join us our virtual summer camp. Your child will enjoy learning, positive high self-esteem and FUN. Lucky your child will meet our wonderful BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color presenters. The topics are STEMS, Filmmaker, Mexican Art, ASL Storytelling, Jamaican Dance, ASL performers, Asian Sign Story, Dance/Art, and many more....

Silent Auction is back! However, we know that with the pandemic still holding us in this grip, this is the best decision for everyone’s safety.

There is good news! We are going to host a virtual event and do our best to make everyone still feel our love. This Facebook Live event will be held on Saturday, April 24th from 7pm-8:30pm and will give our supporters from around the world and the community the opportunity to join us in this fundraiser event. I want to inform you that I was honored to have an interview with PBS TV on March 30th. The interviewer asked me how I came to be an advocate for Deaf children of color. Theresa coordinated the event prior my interview and sent the beautiful message. I did a great job answering the bullet points of the interview.

The name of the show is A Su Salud: Cheers to Good Health. It is a weekly talk show dedicated to covering a variety of health issues, with a focus on the Latino community and expert advice to help keep you and your family healthy. Below is a link to previous episodes.
