It encourages more Hispanic Parents, families and caregivers to engage in a virtual session. Educators and diverse learners are welcome to participate in a virtual session. Trilingual interpreters will be provided. Workshop Description: Presents profiles of five Latinos/Hispanic Deaf people who have achieved success in their chosen fields. Emerson Romero was the silent film actor, Tommy Albert, and developed the first technique to provide captions for sound films. Dr. Robert R. Davila is an educator who has achieved many "firsts" in his life. Ralph Sedano was a pioneer of the ASL/Spanish/English trilingual sign language interpreting field. Melissa Draganac-Hawk is an educator who has served in various leadership roles. Lauren Ridloff is an actress who makes history and brings to life the first-ever deaf superhero of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He looked up to his father and sister as good role models and leaders. He always dreamed of wanting to follow in their footsteps after his graduation. His dream became a reality when he became a South Texas Community of the Deaf Board of Trustee and Gallaudet University Alumni Association Board of Directors. There are many Piñata in the shops but in Zoila’s house, it becomes a family tradition to make her own Piñata. It is a fun and inexpensive project.
